Description:
The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts presents the Miller Piano Duo on Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Squires Recital Salon on the campus of Virginia Tech.
The program will open with the popular “Scaramouche” by 20th century French composer Darius Milhaud. Also on the program are Sonata for Two Pianos in D Major, K. 448 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; Sonate pour piano a quatre mains by Francis Poulenc; Variations on a Theme by Haydn, Op. 56b by Johannes Brahms; and Piano Piece No. 5 by Frank Horvat.
Gregory Millar and Lisa Raposa, the husband-wife team who make up the Millar Piano Duo, have been giving high-energy performances together since 2008.
Appearing on several series including Westwood Concerts (Toronto), Tapestry Concerts (Lancaster, ON), Sunday Rendez-vous at Stewart Hall (Pointe-Claire, QC), and the Arlene Kies Piano Recital and Master Class Series at the University of New Hampshire. The duo also gives workshops for teachers, having presented at the national level for the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Associations.
