The Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech continues their online series the Moss Vault with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra performing "Masterworks: Musical Travelogue" starting on Monday, May 4, 2020 at 5:00 pm through Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at midnight.
Just because you can’t currently attend performances in the Moss Arts Center's spectacular theatre doesn’t mean you can’t experience unforgettable music, dance, and theatre right where you are.
For a limited time, we’re raising the curtain on past performances from our archives. Find a new performance here each week. Each performance will only be available for two days, so don’t miss your chance to see what we’ve released from our video vault.
The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra returns to Blacksburg with a rich masterworks program that traverses musical landscapes near and far with the original performance on Sunday, March 12, 2017. The evening’s first half will feature a new work from Jerome Margolis, Franklin County, juxtaposed with Aaron Copland’s Billy the Kid Suite. The second half of the program will take us across the Atlantic Ocean with Bedrich Smetana’s The Moldau and Maurice Ravel’s beloved Bolero.

The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra (RSO), founded in 1953, is the largest orchestra in Virginia west of Richmond, and the oldest continuously operating professional symphony in the state.
The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra's mission is to enrich lives, educate and entertain diverse audiences in western Virginia with the highest quality instrumental and choral concerts, and to enhance traditional performances with innovative programming.
All of the RSO musicians are paid professionals, and have earned their positions in competitive auditions. Depending on the repertoire, the orchestra expands from small ensembles up to 90-plus musicians as well as full symphonic chorus. Members come from Virginia and surrounding states and rehearse together several days before each performance series.
