Description:
Downtown Blacksburg Inc. (DBI) presents a virtual, online celebration of Summer Solstice Festival 2020 with live music at specific venues on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

Summer Solstice 2020, in its traditional form, was cancelled due to COVID-19, but DBI is bringing a more simplistic version online for people to still celebrate the change of season and everything about Downtown Blacksburg!

Our Virtual Summer Solstice Festival will occur on the same day as originally scheduled and our online celebration can be found at: https://dbisummersolstice.myportfolio.com/virtual-fair and will include:

• Facebook Live performances by local artists and musicians on Saturday afternoon and evening at downtown Blacksburg venues and locations.

• Downtown merchant specials and deals that you would normally see at restaurants and stores during the festival. For specials, visit: https://dbisummersolstice.myportfolio.com/dbi-member-specials.

• An online marketplace that houses and promotes local arts and crafts vendors offering deals and discounts to their works of art. For more details, visit: https://dbisummersolstice.myportfolio.com/work.

Music Schedule:
• 3:00-3:30 pm: PanJammers Steel Drum Orchestra - Performing at the Blacksburg Farmer’s Market
• 4:00-4:30 pm: Daniel Davis – Performing at the Blacksburg Tavern
• 5:00-5:30 pm: Leigh Harless - Performing at Gillies
• 6:00-6:30 pm: Barren Minds - Performing at Cabo Fish Taco
• 7:00 pm: Dr. Moon – Performing at Sugar Magnolia
• 8:00-8:30 pm: Wicked Phat Band - Performing in front of Milk Parlor

Our buskers (street musicians) represent the local talent right here in the New River Valley. These musicians will play live in Downtown Blacksburg and will be broadcasted via Facebook Live for folks watching from home. Viewers can navigate to DBI’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/DowntownBlacksburg/ to listen and watch the musicians.

We encourage folks to come downtown to stop and listen for a few minutes while waiting for your take-out or curbside delivery. If you stay longer, please adhere to proper social distancing guidelines.
