Description:
UPDATE: This event has been cancelled due to expected rain and inclement weather in the New River Valley from Hurricane Laura.

Renew the New and the New River Valley Regional Commission present ReNew the New 2020: Pulaski on Saturday, August 29, 2020 with multiple clean-up sites in Pulaski County, Virginia.

Clean-Up sites:
• Riverview Park for Water-Based Clean Up
• Hazel Hollow Boat Ramp Land-Based Clean Up
• Bell Springs Post Office Land-Based Clean Up

Volunteers will help clean up the New River from the water and on land starting at 9:00 am at all sites.

For the Riverview Park clean-up, bring your own boat. Pick up trash along the Pulaski side of the New River, floating down to Bisset Park. Social distanced transportation will be provided back to Riverview Park.

Only 15 people will be allowed at each of the three sites for clean-up due to COVID-19 and social distancing.

This year, for the safety and health of our volunteers during COVID-19, we are scaling back a bit to follow recommended restrictions. All participants and volunteers must pre-register and sign up online.

All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt. Please make sure you fill out your size on signup.

To sign-up, visit: http://renewthenew.org/renew-pulaski/ and select the green button with the number of volunteers in the top right.

Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, bring gloves, sunscreen, water and bug repellent as needed.

ReNew the New sponsors two annual river clean-ups. In the spring is “Ramps ‘n’ Roads” and in the fall, “Fall Into the New”. Citizens of all ages, from all areas of New River Valley, will be cleaning litter from our highways and byways, boat ramps, river and stream access points. This year you can register to join one of four clean up efforts: Giles, Radford, Montgomery or Floyd. Anyone interested in protecting and renewing the beautiful New River is welcome to join in.
