New River Robotics Association (Hobby / Recreation)
Biography:
The New River Robotics Association is an organization of volunteers dedicated to spreading STEM through the use of robotics and engineering, especially to students in the New River Valley and surrounding area of Virginia. New River Robotics supports the Tuxedo Pandas, FIRST Tech Challenge Team 4924, as our local robotics team.
Franky Marchand, Henry Bass and their families formed the New River Robotics Association in the Fall of 2012 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) in order to support our local robotics teams, and additional STEM outreach in our area. Franky and Henry have been coaching robotics since 2003 and have seen first-hand how much fun it is to ignite a student's passion for science, technology, engineering and math!
