Biography:
Shawn Spencer is the paramount vocalist for Star City Swag, a group based in Roanoke, Virginia, that harkens to a bygone era of classic jazz and blues.
Spencer is a native of Franklin County, VA, and has been a lover of music all her life. Drawn to the elegance and sophistication of jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Nancy Wilson, Spencer pays homage, she says, to these Sovereign Sirens and to “a time when every woman was a lady and every man a gentleman.”
