Biography:

Special Olympics Virginia is a year-round program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The Southwest Region of Special Olympics Virginia serves 21 counties and 6 cities in the southwest corner of the state. The Region includes the Roanoke Valley, the New River Valley and extends through to the borders of West Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky.
