Join the City of Radford for their 15th Annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Bisset Park Gazebo starting at 11 am. The program is free and open to the public and includes a variety of music, speeches and more to honor all veterans as well as those currently serving our nation in all branches of service. The program will be emceed by Bob Thomas. The festivities include: • LTC Byron Penland, Commander at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RAAP) as the keynote speaker. • Radford High School Band and Choir • Field of Crosses in honor of Radford's 59 lost lives in past wars and the reading of names by Dana Jackson, US Navy Retired, American Legion Post 30 • 21 gun salute by VFW Post 776 • Speeches by Delegate Joseph Yost and Mayor Bruce Brown • Bagpiper Andrew Meeks • Songs "To The Colors" and "Taps" performed by Retired US Army serviceman Gary Jackson The entire program will be aired live on WRAD, AM 1460, especially for those unable to attend in person.
