The Town of Christiansburg celebrates their first annual declared Day of Hope for Cancer Awareness on Thursday, May 30th and accordingly Montgomery County Relay For Life volunteers ask that all residents of Montgomery County wear purple. Cancer is a terrible disease that touches nearly everyone’s lives and the color purple represents the commitment of our community to stand up and fight against it. Additionally, businesses and residents can show their support in the fight against cancer by ordering a purple bow to place on their property during the week of May27th-May 31st to help "Paint the Town Purple". The bows are available for a suggested donation of $10 and all proceeds will benefit the work of the American Cancer Society to save lives from cancer by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures and by fighting back. The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer.
