The 2017 Summer Arts Festival presents a Live Theatre Performance of "Elephant and Piggie's We Are In A Play!" by the Roanoke Children's Theatre on Saturday, June 17, 2017, through Monday, June 19, 2017 with performances at 2 pm and 4 pm each day inside Virginia Tech's Squires Student Center's Studio Theatre. A singing elephant? A dancing pig? That can only mean one thing! Mo Willems’ beloved and award-winning children’s books, Elephant and Piggie, are coming to the stage! In this brand new vaudevillian romp of a musical, Elephant and Piggie explore the importance of friendship. Children and adults alike will be dancing in their seats as this musical experience has them doing the “Flippy Floppy Floory” all night long. The play is based on the books by Mo Willems and script and lyrics by Mo Willems and Deborah Wicks La Puma. Admission to all events is free, however, we do request that you reserve your free seating for this event.
