The Mountain Valley Charitable Foundation presents the 10th Annual Eastmont Tomato Festival will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Meadowbrook Center in Shawsville. Celebrate all things tomato at the annual Eastmont Tomato Festival. The free family friendly festival features contests for the tomato art and recipe, as well as competitions for Biggest, Ugliest and Best-Tasting tomato. You can also don your best tomato-themed outfit to compete in the ever-popular Tomato Pageant, and belly up to become the Tomato-Eating champion. Activities and Events include: • Great food (fried green tomatoes, BLTs, pizzas, tomato sandwiches, tomato biscuits and more) • Live music by local bands • A magician and games • Arts, crafts and foods from regional artists and farmers • And of course the TomatOlympics, a series of tomato-themed challenges along our crazy obstacle course. (Just for the fun of it, kids get a chance to throw squishy tomatoes at the Human Tomato Target.) Admission is free and all are welcome.
