The 5th Annual Hokie Half Marathon and 5K is coming back bigger and better than ever on September 17th, 2017. With the first four miles on roads, the next six travel along the Huckleberry Bike Trail before heading back onto roads and bike trails for the final miles.

Water and Gatorade are provided every two miles, along with a Gu station at mile eight, plus porta potties at several intervals along the course. Combined with a ton of live music throughout the course and plenty of cheering along the way, the Hokie Half is one you won’t want to miss! So come join us this fall and earn your Hokie Bird finisher medal and some awesome race swag!

Runners have two options for the Hokie Half, the regular option with all amenities and for a cheaper price can choose the no frill package which includes racing bib, Hokie Bird finisher medal (if you finish), food, and all the race course amenities. Note: you will not receive the registration shirt, finisher shirt and other race swag.

There is very limited packet pick-up on race day. Please make accommodations to ensure you will be able to pick up your packet on Saturday, September 16th between 12-9 pm at the Blacksburg High School Auxiliary Gym (3401 Bruin Lane, Blacksburg, VA).

The Hokie Half Marathon has a four hour time limit for participants. Those who did not finish within the four hour cut-off can still participate in the post race food and festivities, however we will not give out any finisher awards and course support may not be available after 11:00 am.

Parking:
Beginning at 5:00 am on race day, buses will shuttle athletes and spectators from Virginia Tech’s Chicken Hill parking – across from Lane Stadium – to the start/finish area. They will run every 10 minutes.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the VT Running Club, local schools, and charitable programs such as March of Dimes, Micah’s Backpack, Girls on the Run, Friends of the Huckleberry Trail, and Library for Literacy.
