Description: The Blacksburg Newcomers Club presents their November Meeting on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Blacksburg, VA.

So, do you know who Alexander Black is? Yes, that name does sound familiar, doesn't it? If you attend our November meeting, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Alexander and the family who founded Blacksburg.

Hilary Harrison, the Director of History (exhibits, collections, and research) at the Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation, will speak to Blacksburg Newcomers about the Alexander Black House (ABH).

The ABH is one of their museums and an important part of Blacksburg’s rich cultural heritage. The foundation also has volunteer opportunities for those interested. Come join us for an entertaining and informative meeting about Blacksburg.

There is no cost for guests attending the meeting. Membership dues are $25.00 a year and include participation in interest groups.

Free babysitting is available for pre-school children ages 6 months and older.

No matter how long you have lived in the area, since birth or you’ve just moved in, the Blacksburg Newcomers’ Club welcomes all.
