Description: New River Community College's Fiddle, Banjo & Dance Club brings you a night of bluegrass and old-time music featuring the Java Brothers and The Cabin Creek Boys on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 117 Edwards Hall at New River Community College's Dublin, VA campus.

The Java Brothers bluegrass band was born out of Radford’s Monday Night Fiddle & Banjo Jam. They are progressive, but pretty much only to the extent that they'll play new songs as hard driving bluegrass with some rock 'n roll vibes.

They love Bill Monroe, the Stanley Brothers, The Seldom Scene, JD Crowe, Tony Rice, Jimmy Martin, Sam Bush, the Country Gentlemen, the Beatles, the Stones, and all the greats. The Java Brothers have a fun live show that mixes standard Bluegrass and Newgrass with fiery original tunes.

The Java Brothers have become Radford’s house band however they’ve played dances, festivals, brew pubs, and church services all over Southwest Virginia.

The Cabin Creek Boys play old-time hillbilly music from the mountains of southwest Virginia and northwest North Carolina, performing at area fiddlers’ conventions, festivals, square dances, and other community events. Led by multi-instrumentalist husband and wife duo Chris and Erika Testerman of Lansing, North Carolina, the band also includes Jackson Cunningham of Grant, Virginia, on guitar; Trish Kilby Fore of Galax, Virginia, on clawhammer banjo; and Jerry Steinberg of Salem, Virginia, on bass.

The Cabin Creek Boys have fun entertaining audiences with their style of traditional music that includes old-time hoedown instrumentals, bluegrass songs, two-step numbers and waltzes, and love to make people happy with their music.
