Legal Workshop with disAbility Law Center:

Description: The New River Valley Disability Resource Center (NRV DRC) will host a Legal Workshop with the disAbility Law Center of Virginia on Friday, January 26, 2018.

Attend an informational workshop on legal issues impacting people with disabilities. The is an example of the support and referral resources that the NRV DRC provides across the New River Valley area.

A team from the disAbility Law Center will present, explaining how their organization helps address disability-related legal concerns. Following the presentation, attendees will be able to speak to one of the disAbility Law Center advocates about a particular issue. All sessions are free and 30 minutes long.

Attendees are encouraged to call the NRV DRC at 540-266-1435 to indicate their interest ahead of time. Walk-ins are also welcome to attend.

Those seeking a one-on-one appointment should bring any documentation regarding their concern.

The NRV DRC’s mission is to assist individuals with disabilities to live independently. The Center serves the community at large by advocating for and creating an environment accessible to all. As a Center for Independent Living (CIL), we are community-based, focused on helping people with disabilities live as independently as possible. CILs operate under a strict philosophy of consumer control; people of all ages with all types of disabilities directly govern and staff our organization. We serve the New River Valley, which consists of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, and Pulaski counties and the towns within and the city of Radford.

Parking is available on West Main, Hickok Street, and behind the building including disabled parking spots.
