The Hahn Horticulture Garden at Virginia Tech presents a Private Tour of Stonewood Garden on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Join us for a tour of a lovely garden on the outskirts of Blacksburg. Stonewood Garden is the two-acre private garden of Mary LaLone & Kim Knight. As you'll see, they love gardening. Mary has a greenhouse with tropicals, including orchids and carnivorous plants, and gardens outside with tropicals, heaths & heathers, and potted plants. Kim has designed, built, and gardens all the rest of the property, including an Italian garden, arbors and terraces, a Japanese garden with pond and stream, a potager and a cactus greenhouse / orangerie. For more information about Stonewood Garden, visit: http://mlalone.asp.radford.edu/Stonewood_Botanical_Garden.html. We will meet at the Hahn Garden and take two vans to the site (less than 15 minute drive). We will return to the garden no later than 8:30 pm. The cost is $20.00 for the general public and $10.00 for the Friends of the Garden members. Space is limited to 18 participants, must pre-register by contacting Stephanie at vtgarden@vt.edu or 540-231-5970. The rain date is June 27th at the same time.
