Cabin Fever Charity Events presents the 6th annual Kevin Dodson Memorial Picnic Bash titled Cabin Fever 6 on Friday, June 22, 2018 and Saturday, June 23, 2018. Friday Band Line-Up: • Music Road Company (headliner) • Morgan Wade & The Stepbrothers • Mathew Snare Enjoy 11 bands total over two glorious days. The bands play on the front porch stage of our cabin in Terry's Fork, Virginia. The Cabin Fever property also offers a big yard, wading creek and trails. And, bring instruments for campfire jamming. Come on out and be part of something very fun, special, unique and all for a great cause! Music Road Company is a Floyd, VA based band that plays a great music featuring elements of rock, funk, reggae and fun for your dancing and listening pleasure designed to groove and move you. Featuring members of both Spoon Fight and the Color J. Coming from such diverse places as South Africa, Ecuador, Key West, Maryland and Virginia, the band brings many cultural influences together to produce music without boundaries. Moving fluidly from funk to reggae, rock to afrobeat, their sound bounces from blues and soul to island dance and back again, bound together by one common ideal: Music should feel good and spread positive vibes. They get on stage to lift themselves up to a higher frequency and they won’t stop until they bring the entire audience with them Music Road Company is a cooperative of common creative companions conspiring to command your cognitive locomotion. This crew digs through a wide and deep catalog of tunes and musical traditions to get you groovin’ and your hip bones movin'! She started writing songs at eight years old, but it wasn’t until she turned 18 that she began to perform live in 2013. She has since played up and down the East Coast, and has become a favorite to see at her hometown national festival FloydFest. Morgan Wade exploded onto the Southwest Virginia music scene playing a blend of country, folk and high-energy Americana and jamming with a rotating group of musicians. She was immediately noticed for her tremendous song writing and powerful voice. Although Morgan still plays to her Americana roots, the music is driven by sensitive and penetrating lyrics and a tight, electrifying rock band. Morgan Wade delivers an intersection of rock, country, and folk that reflects the beauty, anger, hunger, and hope of coming of age in modern Appalachia. Potluck dishes are also welcome. Event t-shirts will also be available for purchase. The event is BYOB. Admission is free however donations, food and t-shirt purchases are encouraged. All proceeds from food, t-shirt sales and donations will benefit Saint Francis Service Dogs in Roanoke, VA. All donations and proceeds from the sale off merchandise, food and donations goes 100% towards sponsoring a Saint Francis Service Dog. We are rapidly closing in on our target to sponsor our fourth Saint Francis Service Dog team. Cabin Fever Charity Events is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our sole purpose is to raise funds so we can provide a well trained Saint Francis Service Dog for someone that desperately needs one to add quality to their life. Cabin Fever fundraisers are all centered around live music at a one of a kind setting. Cabin Fever is an annual celebration to honor the life and times of our friend T. Kevin Dodson. Chairs, blankets, lawn toys, coolers and grills are all welcome. Parking and primitive camping will be available on-site. Children and friendly pets are welcome. And, if you bring your dog, a $25.00 donation will be made on your behalf for the Saint Francis Service Dog. Gates open at 4:00 pm on Friday. The event is rain or shine.
