Southwest Virginia Ballet hosts Open Auditions for their performance of "The Nutcracker" on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Tanglewood Mall in Roanoke, VA. Southwest Virginia Ballet's annual production of "The Nutcracker" is a Roanoke holiday tradition and a recipient of the Roanoker Platinum Award for Best Arts Performance. Featuring a cast of 150 performers that represent over 15 dance schools from the Roanoke Valley, New River Valley, and beyond. The ballet continues to delight audiences of all ages year after year. Auditions are open to children ages 7 or older who love to dance and perform. Dance experience is preferred, but not required. Registration forms are available at: http://www.svballet.org/forms/Nutcracker%20Audition%20Registration.pdf. Roles include: mice, soldiers, angels and reindeer. Please bring the filled out registration form, a positive attitude and a smile. Dancers are assigned role(s) at the audition and requested to accept or decline participation by the following weekend, Saturday, September 15th. The Nutcracker performances will be December 7, 8, 9, 2018 at the Berglund Center in Roanoke. Tanglewood Mall is located at 4420-A Electric Road in Roanoke, VA.
