The 83rd Newport Agricultural Fair will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 and Saturday, August 11, 2018 on the grounds of the Newport Recreation Center in Giles County, VA. Built on traditions, the Newport Fair is Virginia’s oldest Agricultural Fair celebrating life the way it was, and blending a touch of the past with our present while teaching others for the future. Enjoy lots of traditional agriculture fair contest categories to enter including produce, baking, sewing & fancy work, flower show, arts, crafts & hobbies, good food, live music, displays, events, vendors, friends and community! And don't forget our fireworks on Saturday night! Saturday Schedule: • 4:00-8:00 pm: Exhibit Entries • 5:00 pm: Livestock Show • 5:30 pm: Newport Pageant: Littlest Miss & Little Mister • 6:00 pm: Children's Pet Show • 7:00 pm: Live Music from Tender Mercies • 7:00 pm: Draft Horse Pull • 7:00 pm: Newport Pageant: Little Miss Newport, Jr. Miss Newport, Miss Newport • 8:00 pm: Judging of Newport Pageant All exhibits will be located downstairs and in the Rescue Squad Hall. Admission to both sessions of the Newport Pageant is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children. There will be a free shuttle from the First Christian Church to the Newport Ball Park, on Friday from 6:00 pm until midnight and on Saturday from 9:00 am until midnight. In case of rain, only individual outdoor events may be affected, all other events will proceed as scheduled. All pets entering the fairgrounds must be caged or leashed.
