The American Heart Association presents the 2018 New River Valley Heart Walk & 5k on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center. Schedule: • 1:00 pm: Check-In starts • 2:00 pm: Walk & 5K starts Join walkers from across our community as they step out to have fun, get inspired and support a meaningful cause. In addition to the 5k, there will be a Kid Zone, Survivor Ceremony, picnic lunch and more! Participants are encouraged to bring balls to the Heart Walk to donate that will benefit schools and other non-profits. The receptacles will be located near the Kid-Zone. Registration is free however participants can raise and donate money for the American Heart Association. There will be one water station on the route and one within the festival area. Strollers are allowed. Leashed dogs are welcome and water bowls will be available for drinking.
