The Virginia Tech Flowmigos present Digging In The Crates: 2nd Annual Beat Battle and Music Production Workshop on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Newman Library's Multipurpose Room on the campus of Virginia Tech. Tentative Schedule: • 7:00-8:00 pm: Beat Battle • 8:00-9:00 pm: Workshop with BeatsbyJblack Join the DMV’s BeatsbyJblack and some of the area's best music producers for a head-to-head beat battle with first place winning $250.00 and second place $100.00. After the battle, BeatsbyJblack will lead a workshop breaking down his artistic process. The battle will consist of a single, head-to-head three minute round. Two producers will be called up after their names are randomly drawn from a hat. They flip a coin. Coin toss winner picks if they will go first or second. Once that's decided, each producer gets three minutes to do whatever they want with sound. After both producers get their three minutes, BeatsByJBlack picks the winner. The winner advances to the next round Admission is free and all are welcome. The Flowmigos, aka the Virginia Tech Bboy (Breakdance) Club, is a dance organization for all bboys and bgirls.
