Mini Bug Fest:

Date: October 13, 2018
Time: 1:30 - 2:30 PM
Venue: Meadowbrook Public Library
Description: Meadowbrook Public Library presents a Mini Bug Fest on Saturday, October 13, 2018.

Get ready for Hokie BugFest 2018! Join us to experience a sampling of the buggy fun you can expect at Virginia Tech’s full-day festival.

Learn about the exciting world of insects and their arthropod friends from Virginia Tech graduate student mentors and staff. Meet and hold some of the V.I.B.’s (Very Important Bugs) from Virginia Tech’s Bug Zoo. Get creative with a bug-inspired craft that will jump-start your costume for the Hokie BugFest parade.

You will even see where a passion for insects can lead as author/illustrator Kellie Worrell and 13-year-old Junior Entomologist Michael Worrell share their stories. Kellie will bring her children’s book “The Collectors” that chronicles Michael’s adventures into the world of entomology. And, Michael will show off his award-winning insect collection and describe how other kids can start their own collections!

Admission is free and all are welcome.
