Better Angels Skills Workshop:

Date: February 03, 2019
Time: 1:00 - 4:30 PM
Venue: Unitarian Universalist Congregation
Description: The Unitarian Universalist Congregation hosts a Better Angels Skills Workshop on Sunday, February 3, 2019.

The Better Angels Skills Workshop is created to help the New River Valley reach across the political divide. United we stand and divided we fall. That is the thought behind an organization called Better Angels, whose mission is to help folks address the political polarization that has gained momentum in our country. Make plans to attend the first ever New River Valley Better Angels Skills Workshop.

Better Angels brings Reds and Blues together to learn how to talk to each other and find common ground. After a presentation in a “skills workshop”, participants have an opportunity to practice conversations around difficult topics. Anyone interested in having better interactions with people on the other side of the political aisle is encouraged to attend. There is no cost to participate.

Launched in 2016, Better Angels is a bipartisan citizen’s movement created to unify our divided nation. By bringing red and blue Americans together into a working alliance, they are building new ways to talk to one another, participate together in public life, and influence the direction of the nation. The divisions between Republicans and Democrats haven’t reached the point of violence and chaos. But surely in our dangerously fractured nation, we all need to be touched by something “better” within us and within the institutions that we build together. Better Angels will also be conducting an intensive Red/Blue Workshop the day before.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation is located at 1301 Gladewood Drive in Blacksburg, VA.
