Organizations: Radford University College of Visual & Performing Arts, Scottish Voices
Description: The Radford University College of Visual & Performing Arts presents the Scottish Voices in concert as part of the University Performance Series on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Performance Hall located inside the Covington Center on the campus of Radford University.

Glasgow-based Scottish Voices is a group of female vocalists who have been performing and recording music together since 1991 when they started as a trio.

Over the years it has slowly evolved into something like a co-operative, involving three generations of singers (35 sopranos and mezzos over the 27-year period), and recent performances and recordings have involved collaborations with male singers as well. The singers have been accompanied by several pianists, organists, harpists, vibraphonists and instrumental duos, as well as, on a few occasions, string quartet, ensemble or orchestra. The ensemble is based in Glasgow, but also performs in other Scottish venues such as Edinburgh, Stirling and Aberdeen.

The ensemble performing at Radford University will feature a mixture of Scottish and American pieces performed by the singers with harp, percussion and piano accompaniments. This unique musical experience will include both modern and traditional Scottish music.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
