Description: The Aruna Project presents the 2019 Blacksburg Aruna 5k and 1 Mile Aruna Run / Walk on Sunday, March 31, 2019 starting at the Virginia Tech Duck Pond.

Race Schedule:
• 8:15 am: Packet Pickup and Walk-Up Registration
• 9:00 am: Races start
• 11:00 am - 1:00 pm: Post-Race Celebration and Holi Color War 2019

This event will benefit the Aruna Project, an organization that frees, empowers, and employs sexually exploited women in India by mobilizing thousands to take part in Aruna Runs across the US. 100% of your registration fee goes directly towards the cause. The Aruna Project model utilizes the money raised from the 5K runs to conduct outreach programs consisting of counseling and skill/trade development of enslaved women in the brothel system in India.

Each race participant will receive an athletic drawstring backpack hand-made by free Aruna Artisans and a finisher medal. The first 120 participants will also receive a t-shirt.

Registration from February 16 - March 30, 2019 is $30.00 for non-students and $25.00 for students. Race day registration is $35.00 for non-students and students are $30.00.
