The Newport Jamboree presents their May, 2019 and 10th Season Jamboree Kickoff featuring the music of the Indian Run Stringband and Blue Connection on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Newport Community Park. Enjoy old time and bluegrass music by the Sinking Creek. The Indian Run Stringband from Blacksburg, VA plays fiddle and banjo foot stomping dance tunes and sings traditional songs with old time harmonies perfect for dancing the two step. From dance tunes to the blues, the Indian Run Stringband plays with love and abandon. They make old-time music fresh and new. We play traditional standard bluegrass and country songs with a mixture of contemporary country and a some rock thrown in for good measure. We will ask for a $5.00 donation from each adult to cover the bands and pay for the park rental. Kids under 12 get in free. Bring a chair, pack a swimsuit and invite a friend.
