Description: The Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery presents their 2018 Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 28, 2018 starting at 9:30 am.

The Memorial Day Ceremony will honor and remember all men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice defending Virginia and our nation from the Revolutionary War to today. The keynote speaker is Virginia Delegate Nick Rush (House District 7).

The service features a roll call of veterans, presentation of colors, singing of the national anthem by Beth Shelor, performance of Amazing Grace by Andrew Meeks, additional music provided by the Amelia County High School Choral Ensemble and 29th Division Band of the Virginia National Guard, 21 gun salute and placing of wreaths. A reception will follow the ceremony.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Parking is available on-site and at the nearby Lions Club.

The annual Memorial Day Ceremony is possible due to an ongoing partnership between service organizations such as the New River District of Ruritan National, Inc. and the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery Memorial Day Planning Committee volunteers.
