Organizations: Wildwood Park Summer Nature Lecture Series
Description: The 2019 Wildwood Outdoor Classroom Summer Lecture Series continues with "Ethnobotany: Got Any?" on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Wildwood Park in Radford, VA.

Ever wonder if common 'weeds' have edible or medicinal value? Explore Radford's own native plant hotspots and learn about the cultural, edible and medicinal aspects of the flora we encounter every day. The time of this walk is great to experience the rich diversity and abundance of fall wildflowers.

The talk will be led by Ryley Harris of the Virginia Tech Department of Geography and Virginia Native Plant Society.

Join us in a marvelous natural setting at twilight for these free bi-weekly, family-friendly multi-media presentations by local naturalists on Thursdays starting in June and continuing through August.

Park at the Main Entrance to Wildwood Park at Main & Grove or the Sundell & Park Road lot. It is a 5-minute walk to the classroom in the center of the park.

In case of rain, the lecture will move to the Radford Recreation Center. An announcement will be made by 6:00 pm the day of the lecture.
