New River Land Trust presents an Outdoor Family Class as part of Blacksburg's Sustainability Week 2019 on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Heritage Park in Blacksburg, VA. Explore the wonder of nature’s impressions, shapes, textures and images and capture their beauty through the unique lens of blue prints. Join us for our Outdoor Family Class and Workshop “Sun Prints in Blue” hosted by local artist and photographer Pippi Miller as we explore natural impressions and their origins through the examination of Cyanotypes, or Blue Prints made by artists in nature and learn to make our own cyanotypes of the natural world around us. We’ll learn to make blue prints and you’ll have one to take home. The class is free, but registration is required. To save your spot, email youthoutreach@newriverlandtrust.org. For kids ages 3 and above and their families. Nature Play Space is located within Heritage Park's Glade Road entrance at 2300 Glade Road in Blacksburg, VA. Start at the unpaved trail closest to the kiosk. Hike down past the pond, take a right at the first fork in the path and then an immediate left once up into the field.
