Virginia Virtual Farm to Table Program: Grains:

Date: September 25, 2020
Time: 2:00 - 2:40 PM
Venue: Online Virtual Event
Description: Virginia Cooperative Extension presents a Virginia Virtual Farm to Table Program titled "Grains" on Friday, September 25, 2020.

In this session we will learn about the Common Grain Alliance and learn about how grains are grown and harvested. We will then take a virtual tour of Ardent Mills in Culpeper, Virginia to learn how grain is milled into flour. Finally, we will learn how Great Day Gardens makes scones with 100% Virginia-grown grains.

Virginia agriculture is incredibly diverse, and despite our current challenges, farmers all across the commonwealth are busy keeping food on their customers' tables. In this program, we will take a virtual tour of Virginia farms and learn how food is produced on them. Then we will learn how to prepare new recipes with those foods.

All sessions will be offered on Fridays at 2:00 pm, are 40 minutes long, and are open to everyone.
