Glade Road Growing presents the 2025 Lard Showcase titled "All About Lard" on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Join us for this unique, free showcase where we have food and body product samples and talk more on what you can do with lard and what lard can do for you. With minimal processing and a unique make-up, lard is a superior sensitive-skin friendly base for soaps, hand repair cream, herb-infused salves and more. In the kitchen, lard is a versatile cooking oil, high in vitamin D. Lard does not disappoint, from frying, to a butter substitute in cakes to shortening for the flakiest pie crusts. The best part? Lard can be sourced locally from farmers in your area so that you need not spend another night weeping over how much exotic palm, coconut and olive oils you've been importing.
