A project of the Department of Theatre and Cinema and its Association of Movie Producers, the Progeny Film Festival is a juried festival held every Spring in downtown Blacksburg.

Progeny gives area film students the opportunity to screen their work to other filmmakers and the local community. It recognizes excellence in several areas of filmmaking with awards and prizes.
