Description:
With consumers tightening their purse strings, a highly skilled staff is a must for today’s businesses. To help meet this need, New River Community College is hosting two workshops for area employees entitled “Improve Your Selling Skills” and “Improving Customer Service.”

“Improving Customer Service” will take place on Friday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants in the customer service workshop will learn to how to make a positive impact on customers, develop a problem-solving attitude and cope with difficult customers. Additionally, this hands-on workshop will cover topics such as providing outstanding customer service over the phone and building goodwill through in-person customer service.

The instructor for both workshops will be Laurel Schirr, corporate trainer for NRCC. Schirr has more than ten years experience in sales and marketing and in training sales teams. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a master’s degree in management from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

The fee for each workshop will be $18. However, thanks to special funding obtained by the college for this purpose, fees will be waived for the first 10 businesses to enroll employees (up to four employees per business) in either class.
