UPDATE: Due to impending wet weather, the Paws for a Cause event scheduled for Sunday, April 22nd has been CANCELLED.

The Radford Animal Shelter invites you and your dog to their Paws for a Cause Dog Walk and Family Festival on Sunday, April 22nd.

Admission is $5 for unlimited access to all event activities and 100% of the proceeds go to the Radford Animal Shelter.

Events include:
- A Dog Walk to Stop Animal Abuse
- Dog Games and Prizes
- Funny Pet Photo Contest
- Doggy Red Carpet "Show Off"
- Pet Adoption/Information Booths
- "Doggy Donation" Dog Wash
And much more!

Owners and their dogs can either register the day of the event or pre-register online by visiting their Facebook event at: http://www.facebook.com/events/265479950195066/

Dogs must remain leashed at ALL times. All dogs participating are required have up to date Rabies vaccines prior to the event. Owners will be asked to provide proof of Rabies vaccinations at check-in. Rabies tags, Veterinary history/bills that include the dog’s name, or Proof of Rabies forms are all accepted.

If you wish to bring more than 3 dogs to the event please submit an extra registration form(s) including the information for each individual dog in attendance.

Owners wishing to have their dogs washed will be asked to pay an additional 3 dollars, or to donate an item off of the attached shelter wish list.

Dog owners and participants will also be asked to sign a waiver at check-in before entry to the event. “Paws for a Cause” will be hosted by the Recreation, Parks and Tourism students at Radford University.

Those who still wish to come be a part of the festivities, but not bring their dogs do not need to register, but still may be asked to sign event waivers.

The Radford Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Financial donations provide spay/neutering, medical treatment and other supplies to suffering and abandoned shelter animals. The purpose of this event is to raise money to assist this shelter in caring for its animals, showcase dogs and cats that are available for adoption, increase awareness to put an end to animal abuse and neglect and to create a unique bonding experience between dogs and their people.
