Glencoe Museum is pleased to announce that acclaimed local musician Stevan R. Jackson will give a performance at the museum on Friday, May 11, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
Jackson will perform traditional music that reflects the roots of the Appalachian region. He will use the Celtic harp, guitar, dulcimer, voice and other instruments to illustrate the rich and varied influences that have shaped the region’s musical traditions.
As a performer, Stevan Jackson explores several genres of music. Jackson is a tunesmith who, through the use of a wide variety of musical instruments, weaves together song and story with a magical flair using the Celtic harp, guitar, dulcimer, Autoharp, tin whistle, or banjo intertwined in the background of a song or a story. Jackson highlights music from different cultures in an informative and entertaining manner.
The performance will take place on the grounds of Glencoe Museum. In case of rain, the performance will be held within the museum. All are welcome. There is no admission charge, but donations are appreciated.
