Description:
Art Pannonia will be holding a special reception for visionary expressionist Kim Ellott on Friday, June 1st. Her exhibition at Art Pannonia runs May 30th through July 31st.
Kim Elliott was born in Mississippi, raised in Illinois, lived in Boston, California, and Egypt and settled in Columbus, Ohio. She loves to travel and has been influenced by those experiences and painters such as Gauguin and Chagall but sees her oil paintings as rooted in Americana.
Elliott has won awards in national and regional exhibitions juried by directors of major museums. She has also received two National Park Service Artist-in-Residence fellowships.
She hopes that her work will connect with others emotionally and intellectually because, as she says, "art should be a dynamic interaction between artist and viewer, a lively exchange about the human experience, whether rational, spiritual or emotional. My subject matter sometimes comes from dreams but also from conscious ideas and my love of far places."
