Description:
The Claytor Lake State Park, Claytor Lake Festival Committee and the Fine Arts Center for the NRV invite you to attend the Claytor Lake Beach Festival on Saturday, June 9th. The festival includes arts, crafts, food vendors, a car show, fireworks, music, wine tasting and a whole lot more.
Scheduled Activities/Schedule:
• Arts, Crafts Food Vendors on site, throughout the day, including children's activities.
• Pulaski Fresh Farm-to-Table
• All Day - Remote Control Airplanes, Cars and Trucks Performing Tricks and Stunts
• Claytor Lake Sailing Association offering rides
• 7 am Everett Lee Yearout, Jr. Adult/Youth Fishing Tournament and Essay Contest (Trophies presentation in the afternoon. Weigh-ins at 2 pm.)
• 10 am - The Old Dominion Historical Fire Society's Antique Fire Truck Drive In
• 10 am - 4 pm - Annual Car Show (Trophies Awarded)
• 10 am - 1 pm - Coast Guard Auxillary Helicopter Landing and Static Display
• 11 am - 7 pm - Wine Tasting featuring Virginia Wineries (Attimo Winery, Mountain Vineyard, Homeplace Vineyard, Stanburn Winery)
• 11:30 am - Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre Mini-Performance of Oklahoma
• ~1:15 pm - Search and Rescue Demo
Music Line-Up:
• 12:30-3:30 pm - Uptown Trio
• 3:30-7:30 pm - Part Time Party Band
• 7:30 pm until after fireworks - Southern Nights Band
Fireworks will be presented by Grucci at dusk.
The parking fee is $10 or $5 and five cans of food to be donated to a local food bank. The parking fee is designed to encourage car pooling and the use of the shuttle. Shuttle buses will run from Wal-Mart beginning at 6:00 pm with return service after the fireworks.
Boy Scout Troop 249 will be helping with parking and food donations.
The annual event is sponsored by Pulaski County, Appalachian Power, Food City, Bath Fitters, Draper Aden Associates, Lowe's of Pulaski County and Martin's Pharmacy.
