The Smithfield Plantation celebrates Juneteenth with an event entitled "Celebration of Service" on Saturday, June 16th at the Smithfield Pavilion.

Schedule of Events:
- The Legacy of Service, Othello and Thomas Fraction by Smithfield's April Danner

- Reaching Beyond Glory: The Men of the 102nd United States Colored Troops by Radford University Professor Sharon Roger Hepburn

- Musical Accompaniment by guitarist Kareem McCullough performing several slave protest spirituals

The Juneteenth Celebration is brought to you in cooperation from the Montgomery County, Radford City and Floyd County Branch of the NAACP.
