Smithfield Plantation invites you to their Independence Day Celebration. Enjoy a wide variety activities while celebrating July 4th.

Entry onto the grounds is free and Smithfield Plantation house tours are half-price.

Activities include:
- 18th century reenactors including blacksmith, weavers, spinners, smockers, lace-makes, wool dyers
- Old Time music
- Colonial games and dances
- Militia drill for kids
- Readings of the Declaration of Independence and Fincastle Resolutions
- Authors signing local history books
- Log Cabin BBQ on site for food and drink.
