Description:
The 2012 Annual EastMont Tomato Festival will be held Saturday, August 18th at The Meadowbrook Center in beautiful Shawsville, Virginia. The festival features a full array of activities for the entire family.

There will be live music, fried green tomatoes, BLTs, tomato pizzas, 'mater sandwiches, contest for Best Tomato Art, Funniest Looking Tomato, and Best Tomato Recipe, the tomatOlympics for kids, farmers and artists from throughout the NRV and a whole lot more.

Tentative Schedule:
8:30 - 10:30 am - Registration
10 am - Festival Opens
10 am - 4 pm - Live music and entertainment every hour on the hour, plus raffle drawings and silent auction.
10:30 am - Tomato Pageant with famous judge Leslie Hager-Smith
10:45 am - Tomato Contests with judges
10:45 am - Tomato Artwork Contests
11 am - Presentation on Mountain Valley Charitable Foundation and the purpose of EastMont Tomato Festival proceeds
11:15 am - Performance by Magician Mark Fuller
12 noon - Alleghany Strings Bluegrass Gospel Band
1 pm - Fort Vause Bluegrass Band
1 pm - TomatOlympics
2:30 pm - Adult tomato eating contest
3 pm - Contest winners announced
4 pm - Festival concludes

Proceeds from the 2012 EastMont Tomato Festival will go to the Karen Cronin Legacy Fund that supports gardening and beautification projects in eastern Montgomery County.
