Description:
Join the Montgomery County Parks and Rec for a Whitewater Kayaking Trip on the James River on Sunday, September 8th.

Looking to step it up in whitewater kayaking? If you have participated in a beginner level class and are comfortable with your wet exits out of the kayak, join us for the next step in kayak instruction as we head off to the Balcony Falls section of the James River.

We will review paddling skills and introduce new ones that will allow you to maneuver your kayak more efficiently. Learn to play the river when front, back and side surfing are introduced, along with squirting eddy lines.

All equipment, instruction and transportation are provided. River section is contingent upon water levels.

This trip is for ages 12 and above. The registration deadline is Friday, August 31.

Participants will meet at the Montgomery County Government Center in Christiansburg before traveling together.
