Women of Change, Women of Courage: Appalachian Activists is a project comprised of oral histories, or “herstories,” gathered from women primarily of the Central Appalachian region. The special presentation will held August 4th at the Jessie Peterman Library.

People in the region and beyond are unaware of the long history and many accomplishments of these women activists. This project will address this deficiency, and spotlight the women, while also offering a historical context in which to place them.
