New River Community College will host several hands-on business technology workshops throughout the month of August at the college in Dublin. Workshops include the “Using Outlook to Manage Your Life” workshop on Monday, August 20, from 1 to 3 pm.
All workshops will be held in a computer lab and the fee for each is $20.
In “Using Outlook to Manage Your Life,” participants will discover important features of Microsoft Outlook 2010 and move beyond the basics to become more comfortable using multiple e-mail tools. Course topics include managing mail items, rules, calendar and meeting requests, forms and sharing.
The instructor for these workshops will be Dr. Jeanne Symanoskie. Symanoskie’s background includes 10 years experience teaching in various settings including the Fairfax County Public Schools, Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland and the University of Georgia. She also owned and operated the Blacksburg area restaurant Log Cabin BBQ.
Other workshops include: “OneNote: Your Digital Notebook” on Thursday, August 2, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., “LinkedIn: A to Z” on Thursday, August 9, from 9 to 11 a.m., and “Resumes and Online Applications” on Thursday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to noon.
