The public is invited to a multimedia presentation on August 30th at 6:30 PM given by local author and historian Ricky Cox at the Jessie Peterman Library.

Ricky Cox, an instructor at Radford University in both the English and Appalachian Studies departments, will talk about his new book, The Water-Powered Mills of Floyd County, VA, co-authored by the late Franklin Webb.

The book was a labor of love for both Cox and Webb as they attempted over the years to find information on mills that, for the most part, existed only in memories and old photographs. 140 mills are covered in the book. Cox’s presentation will cover many of them as well as how he and Webb went about gathering information.

Please join us in the Community Room at Jessie Peterman Library, 321 W. Main St. in Floyd for what is certain to be an entertaining and informative talk.
