The Southside Garden Club is celebrating its 70th Anniversary with a program called "Picturing the Past: A Small Standard Flower Show of Horticulture Exhibits Inspired by Movies". The Southside Garden Club chose the films "Bambi", "The Road to Morocco", "Casablanca", and "The Man Who Came to Dinner" as themes.

The Library is pleased to join in the anniversary celebration by showing the chosen films on Saturday, September 1 beginning at 11 am with Bambi, and continuing through the listed titles at 1 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm.

In further acknowledgment of Southside’s anniversary, the Library’s Talking About Books program is choosing fiction and nonfiction titles with garden themes. Books will be discussed on Wednesday, September 5th at 11 am.

The Club is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., South Atlantic Region, and Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc., Blue Ridge District.
