The Giles County Historical Society welcomes Virginia Tech Professor Dr. Seniors for a historical lecture entitled "The Negro Spiritual: History and Performance" at the First Baptist Church of Virginia Heights on Saturday, September 22nd.

Virginia Tech professor Dr. Paula Marie Seniors will discuss the origins of the spiritual and its role in African-American culture. The “Spirits of Joy” choir of the First Baptist Church of Virginia Heights in Pearisburg will perform.

First Baptist Church of Virginia Heights is located at 152 Ballard Street in Pearisburg.
