Description:
Gillie's welcomes The Woody Nelsons to the stage on Thursday, September 6th.
Imagine live recordings of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Dwight Yoakam and Bob Wills, all mixed together, and the sound you hear in your head just might be The Woody Nelsons.
It all started as B.B. & The Lawbreakers, a name made up on the spot, after being asked to perform several shows in New York City.
B.B. Rierson (guitar/lead vocals), Tom Dorathy (upright bass/backing vocals) and Marty Young (Snare) make up the high-energy western swing/rockabilly/traditional country trio now known as The Woody Nelsons. In their many years of performing, they have shared the stage with such acts as Wayne Hancock, Dexter Romweber of the Flat Duo Jets, Cracker, Gov’t Mule, Seven Mary Three, Jimmy’s Chicken Shack, Spacehog, Jackyl, The Pietasters, Southern Culture on the Skids and Hay Seed Dixie.
No venue is too large or too small for this Virginia-based band to have you cuttin' a rug and tippin' the jug. So come on everybody, grab a partner and let the good times roll!
