The Radford University Wind Symphony will hold their first concert of the 2012/2013 school year on Wednesday, October 3rd in Performance Hall. The Wind Symphony is comprise of the University Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band.
Guest conductor and former dean of RU’s College of Visual & Performing Arts, Dr. Bennett Lentczner, joins Dr. Wayne Gallops and the University Wind Symphony in a concert of international music. Selections include Chabrier’s “Espana,” the “Three Japanese Dances” of Bernard Rogers, Alfred Reed’s “Armenian Dances,” marches from around the world, and the Finale from Ottorino Respighi’s “Pines of Rome.” Lentczner and Gallops will offer a pre-concert talk at 7:30pm
The concert will be held in the Performance Hall in the Covington Center for Visual and Performing Arts on Radford University’s campus.
Music begins at 8:00 pm and admission is free and open to the public.
