Watch classic films under the stars outside Virginia Tech's Newman Library facing Torgersen Hall. The Trial will be the film shown on Thursday, October 4th.

A 1962 film directed by Orson Welles based on the story of the same name by Franz Kafka. An unassuming office worker is arrested and stands trial, but he is never made aware of his charges.

These screenings are free to all, and all are welcome. Pets are welcome too, as long as they're crowd-friendly. Free popcorn will also be available.

Make sure to bring your blankets and/or chairs.

Newman Library has a 16mm film collection of approximately 1600 titles. This collection has been built over the last 60 years, and contains films on subjects ranging from agriculture to metallurgy to war as well as several feature films. There are also several films in the collection that were produced on campus at VT in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.

Periodically, we pull select titles from this collection and put them on display in our front yard.

In case of bad weather, the films will be shown indoors in the 6th floor boardroom.
