Celebrate the 50th Birthday of Margaret Beeks Elementary School in Blacksburg on Wednesday, October 3rd with a community-wide celebration and birthday cake. Take a walk down memory lane and learn something along the way.

This is a free flowing event, no speeches or kids performances are scheduled. Take a historical walk in time through the past five decades with highlights on the school, the community and also national events.

There will be specific "decade" rooms which will have memorabilia (t-shirts, class pictures etc) and also a video montage that includes commercials, songs, pictures and headlines of the day along with just plain fun "I remember when" kind of things.

The hallways will have interesting facts about Miss Beeks, fun items such as lunches through the years, schools where the Beeks students came from and other items as well.

All the classrooms will be open and catch up with many former teachers and students of Beeks Elementary.
